A NEW CATAMARAN SETS SAIL FOR HAWAII...RSS Hawaii is
pleased to announce that their new catamaran, the Kaimaka
or “eyes of the sea” in Hawaiian, will arrive shortly on the
Kohala Coast. The catamaran was custom-built by Gold Coast Yachts
according to our specifications. Captain George Pitts along with
experienced sailors John Nommessen and Earl O'Neill left the
harbor in St. Croix on December 8th for their long journey through
the Panama Canal to the shores of The Big Island. Captain Pitts
communicates almost daily with us via e-mail on a laptop with
satellite hook-up.
The red star denotes Kaimaka's position as of today:
Here's Captain Pitts' latest update, "Today has good wind but
heavy o'cast skies with a chance of rain. Making good time,
though, 190 miles again. Starting to keep a more westerly course
today as the current sweeps us a little to the north. Position:16*
33'N/126* 08' W. Sailing reefed (translation = sail area reduced)
and still making 9+ kph but smoother."
If conditions permit, Captain Pitts expects to arrive on The
Big Island this weekend!

ARUBA'S A WRECK (AND PROUD OF IT)... The tropical island
of Aruba received 2nd Place for "Top Wreck Diving" in Scuba
Diving Magazine's Readers Choice Awards.
The Aruba Watersports Association (AWA) assisted in creating
the lastest wreck site. After sitting dormant at the airport for
nearly 15 year's one of Air Aruba's planes is now "seaborne." AWA
succeeded in making the old YS-11 airplane, "Trupial" a new dive
site for Aruba. This latest piece of Aruban history is now at the
bottom of the sea, located between Renaissance Island at the Aruba
shoreline and frequently visited by Red Sail Sports dive boats.

New Years Resolution #2 Train for the Cayman Islands
Butterfield International Triathlon 2006! Red Sail Sports was
again among the many sponsors of this popular local event and
provided various prizes including logo race caps for participants.
Bill Edwards, our Controller, Ciara Sweeney, our Sales Person and
Paul Lusk, our Corporate CFO all participated in this year's race.
Bill was 4th and Ciara was 1st in their respective age/sex
categories. Paul hasn't divulged where he placed but we hear that
he's already training hard with ambitions to beat both Bill and
Ciara in '06.
The Top 5 Reasons to Visit Red Sail Sports in 2006:
- It's been a long time since you've been eyeball-to-eyeball
with a Stingray.
- There's no sand where you live except for in playgrounds.
- The only water that averages 80 degrees is in your bathtub.
- Your skin is A Whiter Shade Of Pale.
- Your dive equipment is feeling neglected.
